What does Long QT syndrome mean?

Define Long QT syndrome:

A defect in heart rhythm which can cause, sudden fainting spells, dizziness, palpitations, seizures and sudden death without warning.

Long QT syndrome name comes from the QT tracing of an electrocardiogram (ECG) machine. This segment lasts slightly longer than other indications from the machine. The heart takes longer to load itself between beats.

Some unknown conditions can trigger an abnormal heart rhythm in Long QT Syndrome. Among the known triggers are a powerful exercise, swimming, suddenly startled or badly frightened.
